ROBBERT de WINTER
Dr de Winter is the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  He has particular expertise in acute coronary syndromes, and is an excellent interventionalist and is principal investigator for numerous important clinical trials.  One of his particular interests have been in the evaluation of the prohealing stents.


ERICK EECKHOUT
Professor Eeckhout is world famous for his tremendous expertise in the field of evaluation and management of PCI complications, as well as PFO and atrial septal closure techniques. Prof Eeckhout is the chief of the adult cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Centre Hospitalier Universaitaire Vaudois/Universite de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland. He is the course director for the International Congress on acute complications during PCI, held once every two years in Lausanne.  This meeting has been running since 1998. Prof Eeckhout also directs the complications course at EuroPCR, amongst his many other duties at EuroPCR.  He is a Board of director of EuroPCR.  All delegates were very delighted with his complications course session at SingLIVE last year, with “sold-out” seats!  Don’t miss him this year!


EBERHARD GRUBE
The doctor to turn to for the latest on new stent evaluations. Prof Grube has been on the cutting edge of evaluating the latest generation of drug eluting stents and other innovative devices. With his expertise and intimate knowledge of the subject, he will provide invaluable advice to our participants as he discusses cases in the main theatre.


JAMES MIN
James Min is the current director of the , Cardiac CT laboratory at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. He also holds concurrent professorships in the department of medicine and Radiology.  He has numerous publications in peer reviewed scientific journals. He is currently on the board of directors of the Society of Cardiovascular CT and is the chairman of the certification Board for Computed Tomography.



JOAO LIMA
Professor Joao Lima is a very distinguished clinician and researcher from Johns Hopkins University, USA. He currently holds the following appointments, Associate Professor of Medicine, Associate Professor of Radiology, Director of Cardiovascular Imaging Director, Stress Echocardiography Program Co-Director, Intraoperative Echocardiography Program. He has authored more than 100 published research papers in internationally renowned peer reviewed journals. His research interests include cardiac CT, MR and cardiac echocardiography.


DAVID KANDZARI
A very prominent young interventionalist with a wide range of clinical research interests, from drug eluting stent platforms to chronic total occlusions.  One of the rising stars from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA, he is now with Cordis, J & J. An excellent speaker, as well as one of the few top CTO experts in USA, his contribution to SingLIVE will be an excellent one!


SPENCER KING III

Prof King is one of the most respected giants in interventional cardiology today, and a past president of the American College of Cardiology. The inventor of the multipurpose catheter, he had been instrumental in bringing Gruentzig to America, and developing PTCA and the live course format in the USA. Under his charge, his institution was one of the earliest pioneers in coronary stenting (Gianturco-Roubin stent) and brachytherapy. There is therefore nobody more qualified to speak on "Courage or discourage: State of the art for PCI in stable IHD".


ROBERT A LOOKSTEIN
Dr Lookstein is a reputed Vascular and Interventional Radiologist who has lectured widely on Vascular Imaging and Intervention.  He is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.  Dr Lookstein is involved in the organization of the Endovascular Aneurysm Repair Preceptorship since 2003 as well as the Annual Live Symposium of Complex Coronary & Vascular Cases in 2004 & 2005 at the Mount Sinai Medical Center.  He is a manuscript reviewer in several major vascular journals including Journal of Vascular Interventional Radiology and Journal of Vascular Surgery.


KLAUS MATHIAS
Professor Mathias is well known to SingLIVE participants.  He has been a regular past guest faculty with us. Professor Mathias is world renown for his expertise in peripheral and neurovascular interventions, particularly in carotid artery stenting.  He is the Director of the Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at the Teaching Hospital of the City of Dortmund and a Professor of Radiology in the University of Münster, Germany.  He has been involved in the organization of numerous congresses and symposia.  He is also the associate editor of several scientific journals.  To date, he has about 900 scientific presentations and about 240 scientific publications.


KAZUAKI MITSUDO
Dr Mitsudo is the Chief Director, Cardiology and Vice President of the Kurashiki Central Hospital, Kurashiki, Japan.  He is one of the top interventional cardiologists in Japan, and is extremely skilled in both coronary and peripheral specialities.  His meticulous techniques and skills  in CTO cases is always very well received by our SingLIVE delegates. Dr Mitsudo is the course director of the very popular annual Kurashiki PCI course, running for almost two decades now.


SHIGERU SAITO
A transradialist and interventionalist par excellence! We are always amazed at his skill and the speed in which he does his interventions.  Dr Saito is very known to everyone. He  is the director of cardiology and catheterization laboratories at Shonan Kamakura General Hospital in Kamakura, Japan, as well as Vice-Director of the hospital.   He travels extensively to  contribute to the development of interventional cardiology and transradial angioplasty in Asia and around the world.  Dr Saito runs his own annual live course at Kamakura, as well as being one of the course directors for CCT, Japan.


DIERK SCHEINERT
Dr Scheinert is a Cardiologist who is a notable expert on peripheral vascular interventions, specifically in below knee interventions.  He is also the Head of the Department of Medicine I/Angiology & Cardiology, Park Hospital Leipzig and the Head of the Department of Angiology, University of Leipzig, Heart Center in Germany.  He has numerous journal publications and book chapters.  Recent publications include comparison of Sirolimus-eluting vs bare-metal stents for treatment of infrapopliteal obstructions and long-term results from the SIROCCO trial.


CHRISTIAN SPAULDING
Professor Spaulding is a very well respected figure in interventional cardiology circles in Europe and USA.  He is the Professor of Cardiology and director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Cochin Hospital/Rene Descartes University in Paris, France.  Prof Spaulding has extensive experience in acute coronary syndromes and AMI.   His publications are extensive and recent papers include those in the New England Journal of Medicine on DES meta-analysis and the TYPHOON study of Sirolimus stents in AMI, for which he is the lead author.


RON WAKSMAN
Ron Waksman is the Associate Director, Division of Cardiology, Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC and Director of Experimental Angioplasty and New Technologies.  He is also Clinical Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) of Georgetown University.  Dr Waksman is an eminent interventional cardiologist and made his impact as the world’s foremost authority in research in vascular brachytherapy for the prevention of restenosis.  He has since branched into many different areas in the interventional field, including DES applications and bioabsorbable stents.  Prof Waksman has an extensive list of publications in premier medical journals and is an extremely popular faculty member in numerous meetings in USA, Europe and Asia. His knowledge of all aspects of intervention, and his excellent teaching ability is something that all SingLIVE participants will appreciate.  We look forward to Prof Waksman’s participation at SingLIVE again this year!  Prof Waksman runs his very successful Cardiovascular Revascularisation Therapy (CRT) Course in Washington DC yearly.
