Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues

It is my honour to extend the warmest greetings from Singapore and Singapore LIVE 2008. The Singapore LIVE course, running for the 17th year, continues to be one of Asia’s premier interventional meetings due to your continuous support. We look forward again to bring you the most enriching courses and the best opportunities to interact and learn from the experts from both the International and Asia Pacific scene.

Exciting new developments in drug eluting stents technology will be featured at this meeting. We will showcase the latest devices and innovative techniques in both interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular interventions. The Complications session will take centre stage while we continue to refine the well-received intermediate level Clinical PCI course. Functional and anatomic assessment of lesions, valvular and congenital heart interventions will continue to be highlighted. Singapore LIVE will also strive to be the launching platform for new technologies and ideas to keep itself at the forefront of interventional cardiovascular advancements.

The Singapore LIVE Course has always sought to innovate and renew itself in the format and content that is presented to you. This year, we have changed our meeting to commence towards the end of the workweek in order to accommodate the busy schedules of our participants. Time away from important work can therefore be minimized whilst optimizing learning opportunities.

A new feature this year is the famous Royal Brompton Course on Cardiac Morphology. This will run over two days immediately preceding the main event. We have also rescheduled some of our various courses within the 17 Singapore LIVE meeting. The popular interventional fellows course will commence during the precongress date, and the 3rd Annual Cardiac CT and CTO courses on the weekend of the meeting.

The Poster Abstracts and Best of Young Interventionalists Awards have proven to be a good opportunity for the budding Asian interventionalists to showcase their talent and research work. Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners.

We will be producing an innovative and exciting programme over the 3 days in early March next year. On behalf of the organizing committee, I look forward to welcoming you again to our warm and sunny island, in an environment where lively exchanges of scientific knowledge, best practices, technical pearls and tips will be conducted through an Asian perspective.

Yours sincerely
